The Confederate defense succeeded in holding off the procession and contributed to the definitive Southern victory.

Leesburg is located just 35 miles northwest of Washington, DC., at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Leesburg is only 15 minutes from Dulles International Airport and 45 minutes from Reagan National Airport.
